Welcome to the Library Media Center

The Manchester Elementary Middle School library media program is an integral part of the school curriculum. It provides a wide range of resources and information that satisfy the educational needs and interests of students. Materials are selected to meet the varied range of students' individual learning styles while providing for choice and exploration beyond the classroom.

The Media Center is flexibly scheduled. Students can visit the media center at any supervised time during the school day with teacher permission. Students use the center individually, in small groups or in whole classes for a variety of activities including material selection and check-out, research, quiet reading, and use of equipment to view, listen and research.

The MEMS Library Media Center is part of the Northshire Library Media Consortium or shortened to Northshire Libraries. This is an on line library database that gives you access to three libraries in one database : MEMS Library Media Center, the Lisa B. Tuttle Library at Burr and Burton Academy and the Mark Skinner Library. This cooperative consortium is available all year long, 24/7. The combined collection is over 55,000 titles.

All you need is a membership to one of the three libraries. That library will be your “Home” library. You will need to ask for your user name and password if you want to reserve titles on line. You can search the catalogs without login. See your “Home” librarian or media specialist for more information.

We strive to provide friendly and helpful services. We offer a collection that meets the needs of our students in grades pre k-8 in the Manchester educational community.

Use the Northshire LM Consortium to start searching now.
